DOM MOORHOUSE > Project Director
Dom is responsible for the overall coordination of the Strength in Depth project. Dom has had a multi-various career; formerly a Royal Marines Officer serving an eight-year commission, he subsequently worked for a global management consultancy before building, and then selling, his own consultancy business. Nowadays, he describes his career as one of having ‘fingers in pies’ … non-executive work, book writing, running business ‘Retreats’, work for Princes Trust and investment in a number of entrepreneurial initiatives. Dom is also a “mildly addicted” CrossFit athlete having discovered CrossFit Bath in 2011; he has competed in a number of fitness competitions as a 45y+ master … London Throwdown, Raising the Bar and the European Inferno (with Ollie as his coach!). Outside of work and training, he is busy ferrying his three children to multiple sporting clubs and, in the final slivers of time remaining, he attempts to improve on his very tenuous paragliding skills.
OLLIE MANSBRIDGE > Competition Director
Ollie’s biggest passion is coaching and helping people find fulfilment in their ‘fitness life’. A co-owner of CrossFit Bath, Ollie programmes and coaches some of the UK’s best fitness athletes. Prior to opening one of the UK’s top training facilities, Ollie played professional rugby for Bristol and Worcester. During his time playing rugby, Ollie obtained an Fds degree in sports science and has since gone on to study and learn from some of the world’s best coaches, including James Fitzgerald (OPT), AJ Roberts (Westside Barbell) and Mike Burgener (USA Weightlifting). Following a knee injury leading to four operations, Ollie is still looking to make a competitive return to CrossFit … chocolate knee permitting. A nerd at heart he enjoys reading sporting books specifically concentrating on the controversy surrounding the competitive nature that is clear in all high level sport!
MEGAN MANSBRIDGE > Competition Manager
Megan is responsible for the Strength in Depth operations and logistics. Following a First Class Event Management Degree, Megan has worked within the Event Industry for over seven years; working with various clients on an array of meetings, conferences, team builds and company incentive trips. Strength in Depth opens a new exciting chapter for Megan concentrating on a project outside of the corporate sector. Megan has always been relatively active and is a keen Horse woman, half marathon runner as well as CrossFitter. Megan’s CrossFit journey began in 2009 when she met her Husband, Ollie (Dom’s coach). Having competed in the 2011 and 2012 Regionals, Megan is now a self-confessed part-time CrossFitter with all the gear and no idea. She strongly advocates Z1 training!
RICHARD GILLIS > Marketing and Communications Director
Richard got his break in journalism working with Richie Benaud on Channel 4’s cricket coverage before establishing himself as a leading commentator on the European sports business in an award winning career working for several international media groups including the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times. Formerly editor of SportBusiness International, his ‘21st Century Sport’ series of investigative reports in The Observer was recognised by the Foreign Press Association Awards and the Sports Writers Association of Great Britain. Richard now combines media work with his own strategic communications consultancy. Recent client projects include Lloyds Banking Group’s London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games partnership, EY’s sponsorship of the 2012 Ryder Cup and Coca Cola’s Together We Move global communications platform. He can be found on Twitter @RichardGillis1 bickering with people he hopes never to meet.
TOM KNIGHTS > Branding and Wesbite Design
Tom is the creative driving force for Strength in Depth. Responsible for designing a brand style that represents a competition of this calibre, along with a website that is user friendly, social and in keeping with the team ethos of the whole contest. Graphic design is one of Tom’s main passions; he will be making sure that all design elements are created to the highest standard throughout the tournament. Another recent passion in Tom’s life is mud running and obstacle races. He is always volunteering to take his kids to the park just so he can practise his technique for getting over the high walls.
JODY VAN V > Website Development
Jody is the web developer responsible for the Strength in Depth website. Jody has a career in technology and the web stretching back to 2000 when he started his career in IT at Packard Bell. Since then he has gone on to work in a variety of industries from legal IT, to academic services as well working for a number of web agencies in web development and online marketing roles. Jody has few claims to fame, but does possibly hold the world record for the most cups of tea drunk in a day.
